Solution Architect (Data Engineering)

Job Description:

  • Meet and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to establish project scope, system goals, and requirements
  • Direct the design of data warehouse, data lake, and analytical systems for enterprise scale clients, which covers telecommunication, finance and government, in the aspects of:
    • Physical architecture
    • Network architecture
    • Data architecture & data flow
    • Business process
    • ITSM / ITIL processess
    • Security architectures
    • Data governance
    • Backup & disaster recovery
  • Accountable for translating business requirements into a viable and feasible solutions architecture that can be delivered to budget, on time and to the required quality.
  • Propose solution alternatives to each business problem and to draw out the merits and disadvantages of each. To identify the best solution for the particular circumstances, advocate and ensure its adoption and acceptance amongst the stakeholders
  • Responsible for the production of solution design documents, - a solution architecture description – its governance, solution integrity and soliciting agreement from the various technical stakeholders to the solutions feasibility
  • Is accountable for the end to end integrity of the technical solution delivered by the project
  • Responsible and accountable for evaluating and recommending external products and services that will form part the solution delivery or delivery team
  • Translating application requirements and business process models into component and interface specifications
  • Responsible and accountable for the direction of all other architects engaged to deliver projects
  • Provide technical consultancy, guidance, instruction and leadership to the various technology partners and delivery teams involved with solutions delivery
  • Ensure that technology partners and delivery teams adhere to the principles established in the enterprise architecture, governance, policies, principles, patterns, etc.
  • Managing technical design issues and key decisions escalated at a project delivery and responsible for resolving these issues
  • Ownership of required architecture governance deliverables and delivery against initiative / programme timelines
  • Provide support to project managers on understanding and managing technical aspects of a project
  • Lead a team of data engineer in best architectural practices when implementating of data engineering projects

Required Skills:

  • 8+ years experience in business analysis, system analysis or software development projects related to ETL, data migration or data warehousing
  • Experience in system development lifecycle, either professionally or as hobby
  • Self-driven and able to take own initiative to learn and explore
  • Capable of picking up new technologies and practices in a rapid manner
  • Solid foundation in mathematical and algorithmic thinking
  • Background in UML modeling is a plus
  • Team player
